1st c&b purchase

has anyone ever attempted coordinating a couch to pillows? yes, couch to pillows. not pillows to couch. i couldn't pass these up. i had to snag them before they sold out. did i think it through before buying? of course not. but i still love them. (and bonus...austin does too).

just kidding. sort of. one day i would really like to get into this. reception #2 was a big hit. fun party, good food, great turnout, perfect weather. and...besides the mess, the stress is over.

uneventful halloween...

i have realized austin and i are not really into the whole halloween thing..we haven't dressed up once since we have been married, let alone even when we were dating. halloween has come and gone...and we didn't do a single thing. actually, austin did manage to carve a pumpkin for a contest at work (his team lost, but he got a starbucks gift card out of it! tis the season for caramel apple cider!) so last night instead of attending halloween parties or passing out candy like most normal people do, we went out and enjoyed dinner at one of our favorites...cheesecake factory. and we felt really bad for the little boy that was sitting at the table next to us with his family during prime trick-or-treating time...he didn't seem too bothered by it. pretty much downed his entire club sandwich all on his own.

next holiday on the calendar will make up for our lack of celebrating halloween:

1st annual Bluth/Little Thanksgiving dinner!!

all in all it was a fun, but quick vacation. one happy weekend as a family.

taste of fall

i never thought i would say this, but...i miss utah weather! i am sure my opinion will change come december, but for now fall sounds quite appealing. mainly for the clothing possibilities. since there are no signs of fall appearing here anytime soon, i have decided to take matters into my own hands. tomorrow i will be baking this:

did you know??

i have been on the hunt for some affordable botanical prints. no such luck until last night i was browsing through pottery barn and found the perfect set. i went to ask the lady if they were for sale. unfortunately, not. little did i know the best news was about to come. she said after their floor set changes she just THROWS AWAY any display prints. all i have to do is call in a couple weeks and she will set them aside for me to pick up if they still have them. okay, lady...you asked for it. i will be calling everyday. just wanted to pass on the info...thank you pottery barn.

These Arizona summer days have been hot! Especially for this ball of fur. Good thing she finally took a liking for the pool!

I think it will be getting a lot more use now.

Austin found this swimming in the pool with him yesterday. Yes, your eyes are correct. It is an orange snake! It is still alive in the water bottle. We've added another pet to the Bluth household!

1st BIG purchase

Today marks the day of our first big purchase together. After two years we finally bought...brace yourselves...a dining room table and chairs! Now all we need is a place to put it in. Until then, it will sit in storage.

am i the only one who ever got this haircut back in the day? i think this is the exact photo i took to the hairstylist. it turned out nothing like the picture. i can't believe i actually thought this was cute...(and fitting for a 13-year-old).

austin got fitted for his uniform last week only to realize they did not have any pants long enough for him. don't worry he is not strutting around the hotel in floods...new uniforms coming soon. if only we could take a couple inches off his legs and surgically attach them to mine...

it has only been a year since we set up a blog address. we always just assumed, 'who would want to read about our boring lives anyway?' well we finally have something exciting to share! we are moving to arizona. yes..we have already heard it. we know we are moving at the hottest/worst time of year. duh. but we are really looking forward to this new and exciting change! one minor problem...i am still searching for a job. the way things are looking right now i just might have to go back to my high school roots and work at the local italian restaurant. wish me luck.
